About Us
A family-owned restaurant serving authentic Mexican cuisine has opened its doors.El Regio Authentic Mexican Tortillas hosted a grand opening celebration Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 4165 Grand Haven Road in Norton Shores. Co-owner Sheyla Vansuch takes pride in the restaurant’s traditional Mexican tortillas made from scratch.
“The idea is to bring authentic flavor here to Muskegon,” she said. El Regio sources its dough from Mexico, which for Vansuch is more costly but also more authentic, leading to a better product for health-conscious customers.
“It is fresh, no chemicals, no preservatives; that’s what we try to do,” Vansuch said. “I am Mexican, and we always have breakfast tacos,” she said. “Everything here is bagels and bread, so I want to give you the chance at seven in the morning -- maybe you’re on your way to work -- and you can stop in for burritos or tacos on your way to work.”
